The Global Poverty Project Revealed in PNG

In a bid to end extreme poverty, some of Global Poverty’s greatest thinkers are coming together and forming a ground breaking new project: The Global Poverty Project.

The Global Poverty Project is focused on the end of extreme poverty and the achievement of the UN Millennium Development Goals. The project will bring together the worlds greatest minds on economics and community development to develop a groundbreaking presentation that will be delivered by young people all around the world.

A world first and PNG are the first to hear about it.

The Global Poverty Project builds on the global movement to engage, educate and catalyse action to tackle extreme poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals”, says international humanitarian and 2004 Young Australian of the Year, Hugh Evans.

Inspired by ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, The Global Poverty Project  will “arm individuals with the tools, knowledge and inspiration to influence governments and take action through the presentation and local campaign partners” says Evans.

This weekend Evans and Dimity Fifer, Chief Executive Officer of Australian Volunteers International, along with a team of others will tour PNG working with PNG’s young leaders to identify and workshop ways of building stronger communities and a strong Papua New Guinea.

“We’re incredibly excited to start our research for The Global Poverty Project here in Papua New Guinea, where young people are so enthusiastic about sharing their stories and experiences” Says Fifer.

Hosted in conjunction with UPNG and The Voice.
